Hi all,
I've been playing games on PC for some years but its mostly been simulation games. That don't really require a beastly PC (ets2) but I've decided to get into a bit more of a demanding side of gaming. Such as triple A titles. Battlefield 5, Tomb Raider etc.
Current specs:
I recently got myself a good deal on a clearance sale Asus Strix 1080ti OC and due to the box being ripped slightly got even more off price. Having got myself BFV the other day and installing the 1080ti I struggled to get above 30fps on low. After going into safe mode and wiping drivers and reinstalling I'm getting around 65-75fps on ultra which is playable.
Basically I'm just wondering with me playing at 1080p am I some what bottle-necking the 1080ti, should I be looking at getting a Gsync 1440p monitor instead? Would I gain FPS or lose FPS from this? I have looked online/benchmarks and have seen people with similar specs to mine get above 100FPS at 1440p within Battlefield V. So just wondering would I benefit from a 1440p monitor as they are pretty expensive.. and would my 7700k be enough for 1440p or would I have to look into getting something newer and more beefy to get a nice frame rate within BF V as I've heard it likes to eat cores?
On a little side question... I've noticed my CPU doesn't actually turbo up. After reading a bit more into my motherboard, it doesn't seem to support overclocking which is something I completely skipped over at first. Would this be the cause of my CPU not using turbo and staying at stock speed?(turbo is enabled in bios)
Thanks for reading my wall of text hope it was some what understandable and enough info given.
