I'm thinking of getting a PS4 soon and I wanna connect it to my monitor. My monitor only has one VGA input. I know I need all those adaptors HDMI-VGA and which ones to get. My question is: let's say I have both my PS4 and PC on and I wanna switch between both. Is there a way I can do this?

Solution
To use the PS4 with a VGA monitor, you will need an active HDMI to VGA adapter, and there could be a noticeable loss in quality.
I suggest you look at a new monitor with at least one HDMI input and a second input to suit your graphics card.
HDMI and DisplayPort support audio as well as video. DisplayPort will give you the best possible quality from your PC.
Avoid VGA as this is an analog video signal. HDMI and DVI are good quality, and you can use a cable to convert between these two if required, although there is no audio support if either end is DVI.
Hopefully your monitor has something more than a single VGA input.
Typically you would use a HDMI output for the PS4, connected to a HDMI input on the monitor.
From the PC, use another input on the monitor and an equivalent output on the graphics card.
To switch, use the monitor menu.

Nope, just 1 VGA input. One of the reasons I wanna buy a new one.
