PC audio spliting into speaker and amplifier

I am wanting to connect my PC to one set of speakers and also an amplifier connected to another set of speakers. Would this be possible with a simple Y splitter or would I need something different for it to work properly?

Also I am wanting to connect my TV to the amplifier so would I be able to use a mixer in that instance?

If you are going to send your stereo sound from the PC to those speakers, a simple Y splitter would do. But the sound depends on the input resistance of those speakers and the amplifier. No checking on that prior to installation. So trial by fire..

for the second instance a mixer would definitely do what you want.
