pc booting problems

there is a lot of power outages where i live so i have a ups, but last night it seems that the ups wasn't enough and there was no power for a long time. in the morning i woke up the pc was off i turned it on and it immediately turned back off, i pushed the power button again the pc turned on but no post nothing on screen at all, turned it off that back on and it booted normally. what could be causing this?

sometimes the powersupply needs a bit of time to charge up, after a power outage I always have to double boot in order for my computer to start.

but the psu was plugged in a long time before i boot

nevertheless... just because its plugged in doesnt mean its drawing/getting any power.

hmm weird, you sure? cause the leds on the motherboard light up

ok i'll trust you then, i'm worried cause this psu is about 5 years old

well if it was quality one id still trust it, if it was of shoddy make Id maybe get it replaced.

it's a cougar 700W 80+ bronze

ive not seen reviews of the Cougar CMX 700... so I do no really know it.
