Awhile ago my PC was working fine and one day it wouldn't boot. I turn the PC on and everything starts up but no post beep and no display. The day before the computer was working completely fine. When I take the RAM out I still get no beeps that indicate a problem with the RAM. I swapped out the motherboard and I still get no post and I also swapped my power supply and still no Post. I feel as if I tried everything. What else can I do to troubleshoot my problem? Thanks.

Can you explain what happens when try to power it on? Do the case fans turn on? Does the light on the mobo turn on?

Just so I've understood this correctly, you've swapped out each of your components one by one (each stick of RAM, spare motherboard, spare PSU), and the computer still did not turn on?

Also, can you please list your PC specs?

Yes everything turns on. The case fans turn on, the gpu turns on with fans spinning, my mobo doesn't have any lights but it has a speaker. You are correct, I swapped out my ram, motherboard, and power supply with brand new components and no results.

Specs:

CPU: AMD 8320
Cooled by corsair AIO H60
Mobo: MSI 760GMA-p34fx (I swapped it out for a msi 970A-G43plus)
PSU: Corsair CX750M (swapped out for a non-modular CX750)
GPU: Gtx 980
RAM: G.skill sniper 8gb

Have you removed your graphics card and connected your monitor to on-board graphics to rule out the possibility of a faulty video card?

What about your HDD? An internal short in the HDD can prevent POST. Remove it and see if it makes a difference.

I took my graphics card out last week when I started installing the other motherboard and power supply so that shouldn't be the problem. I will test the HDD when I get home, thanks for the tip.

I got home and I tried unplugging my HDD and my SSD that I boot off of and nothing changed. The only thing I can think of is a faulty CPU but I'm sure the PC would at least make a post beep if it was working.

Just a thought, have you tried breadboarding just to overrule any case shorts? I assume you tried some form of this when you were checking with the other motherboard.

It does seem like it's the CPU, even though those rarely fail. And I don't see why the mobo would make a beep if the CPU was indeed faulty. It just wouldn't POST at all. Can you try taking your PC to a shop and testing with another processor?

I never actually breadboarding because the computer was working fine for 4 years before this happened. It would have shorted out a long time ago if that was the case. My final guess was the CPU I can probably find a shop that will let me use a cpu and if that is the case I already made a warranty request through AMD. Thanks for the suggestions and I will get back to you.

You're right, it would be unlikely but there's always a slim possibility of a deterioration somewhere within the case (ie insulation of a wire pinched between tight spots slightly breaks and touches the chassis). Unlikely, but worth checking to 100% rule out the case.

I will definitely try breadboarding the system later today. I guess it doesn't hurt to try that out. I'm planning on sending in my CPU for warranty just in case that happens to be the problem.

Alright I tried breadboarding and still no post. Case isn't a problem. It must be the rare occasion where I have a faulty CPU. Going to send it in for warranty and hopefully that's the issue.

Late reply but I finally got a chance to get a different CPU. I replaced my AMD 8320 with the better 8350 and still no post. This CPU was paired with the new motherboard and power supply. This is very strange because that means it is basically a new pc and nothing works. I'm using a corsair H60 to cool the CPU and my final guess is that maybe the pump died and the pc won't post because it recognizes the failure with the pump? If that sounds right let me know. This is very frustrating and I have pretty much built up a new pc and I have no luck
