I was playing CS:GO on one of my two screens. On the other one i was watching netflix. In the bakground i was downloading a game through steam. When my PC suddenley crashed.

I tried to start the PC in safe mode. And then i did a system recovery. If i start the PC now the acer logo appears but with two fat blue stripes across the screen vertically. then the screen just turns black for a moment and then turns black again but with a "billion" of very small blue stripes but this time the stripes goes both vertically and horizontally. Then it goes black and then the windows logo appears and then the screens turns black once again and stays that way forever. Just black.

So what's wrong?
What should i do next?

And i don't now what causes the problems so i didn't know what category i should choose

I have tried to enter safe mode by pressing F8, shift+F8 but none of them works. It wont open the boot settings screen.

Is there any other way to start the PC in safe mode?

and now it appears a little information box when started saying "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, then restart the installation"

If i press "OK" it will restart and the same text will appear again.

Just pressing F8 or Shift+F8 won't do the trick. You have to pretty much start mashing the F8 or Shift+F8 key, repeatedly and about as fast as you can, the very second you turn the power on and keep doing so until you see the advanced boot menu options or determine that it missed it again, or else it won't work. UEFI systems boot so fast past the post screen that it's almost impossible to catch the advanced boot menu. Also, I'd recommend trying to got into the bios and turn OFF fast boot or super fast boot if it's enabled, then trying the advanced boot menu. That way the post process takes a little longer and is more likely to recognize your key punch.

Also, if you have installation media, and can boot from disk or USB, you can access the advanced boot menu options using the installation media. You can create media here if you don't have it already. You may have to do a clean install to resolve this and if you didn't back up your old configuration to an external source along with any important files, they may just be lost.

The following and has been pulled and compiled from a variety of sources, and tailored for our forum.

1) Check that the software and hardware you mostly use are comptible with Windows 10 and have drivers available

2) Make sure to update all necessary drivers and Windows updates
(Does not apply when doing a clean install)

3) Some devices might need a specific driver to operate with Windows 10, it might be a good idea to download these Windows 10 compatible versions prior to upgrading and save them to a flash drive or DVD disk in order to have them ready, just in case.

4) Backup all and any important files from your computer to a cloud service or external harddrive

5) Create recovery media for your current Windows install, if you have a OEM pc/laptop refer to the user manual or check the website of the manufacturer for how to create the recovery media for your device (some people have been unable to use the rollback feature after upgrading to Windows 10)

How to do a clean install

Dowload the ISO here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Use this tool to create USB or DVD installation media using the downloaded ISO: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool

I did a clean install of windows but the problems remains the same. Well, Now i can use the pc but its still full of blue stripes all the time. And the largest resolution i can have is 1600x1200.

I wonder if i should take it too some sort of computer store and let them have a lock at it or do you have any More ideas?

Did you also do a clean install of the graphic card drivers afterwards? Try that first, and if it doesn't work, then I'd suspect you have a problem with the cable (Bent pins, bad cable, not fully plugged in, etc.), graphic card or monitor itself.

Clean GPU card driver installation is linked above in my first post. After installing windows, it's a good idea to run that as Windows 10 tends to automatically change the driver to one it prefers, which is usually NOT the best one, and running the DDU changes that to where it cannot automatically switch drivers on you.

I've just done what you said. I used the DDU tool and uninstalled the drivers. Then i downloaded the new drivers and installed them. But during the installation the screen turned black and have stayed that way for about 10-15 minutes.

ACER typically uses extremely cheap and low quality power supplies in their OEM units. I'd probably be looking to that or the GPU card as the culprits. Try disconnecting the monitor cables from the GPU card and connecting them to the motherboard outputs in order to use the integrated HD 2000 CPU graphics. This should tell you if the issue is with your graphics card unless the power supply is seriously faulty and is causing the issue.

Heh, that may be at least part of the issue. If you have both a graphics card and a processor with built in graphics, there are two separate sets of outputs you can connect to on the back of the computer. One set of them are for the graphics card, the other set are for the integrated graphics of the processor and are attached to the motherboard. You need to figure out which set you are attached to. If your monitor is connected to the motherboard IN/OUT panel connections, that may be the problem altogether since there's a GPU card installed. If you ARE attached to the graphics card, unplug your monitor(s) and try using the HDMI, DVI or VGA output from the motherboard I/O panel which would use the CPU integrated graphics.

Haha! I thought you meant inside the PC. hehe

But i did as you said and the other set of outputs is only a VGA port and a HDMI port but its blocked with some kind of plug. So i tested the VGA port and the screen is just black. The screen dosent even recognise the PC. "No cable connected" and "No signal"

Ok, there is probably an adapter screwed into your I/O motherboard video ports. There should be thumb screws holding it in there. If you can remove it, you can try that. As far as the screen being black, you probably need to remove your graphics card in order for the onboard video to function.

I removed/unplugged the GPU and started the computer with the screen connected to the VGA port and the computer works. No blue stripes. But I can only have 1280x1024 in resolution.

Either your graphics card or your power supply is the cause of the problem, and with an OEM power supply in there now, I'm going to highly recommend you replace both anyhow. Factory style (OEM) power supplies are generally pretty low quality and are not ever intended for use with middle to high end discreet gaming cards.

A new GPU card and a good quality tier 1 or 2 power supply should solve all your issues.

I dont really have a budget I just want a good gaming computer. Right now the only thing i play is CS:GO but i wanna play some newer games that will be released later this year. And i want to have two screens so i can for example watching netflix on one of them
