[SOLVED] Pc build and thinking about the future

Hello everyone,

I am struggling with a problem. My current build:
ASRock b150m-hdv
I7-6700
rtx 2070
Xilence performance C 600w
2x8 gb ddr4 3000MHz
Sharkoon VG4-W

I am planning on upgrading my pc. I can't decide which choice is best.

CHOICE 1:
AMD Ryzen7 2700X (stock cooler)
MSI X470 GAMING PRO CARBON AM4
rtx 2070
Corsair RM850X v2
2x8gb ddr4 3000MHz
Night Shark case from sharkoon

CHOICE 2:
I7-9700K
Gigabyte z390 AORUS ELITE
rtx 2070
Corsair TX750M
2x8GB ddr4 3000MHz
Noctua NHD15-S
Sharkoon VG4-w

CHOICE 1: I like it because the 3rd gen ryzen are going to be compatible with the current AM4 socket motherboards so that's thinking about the future. The night shark case is really nice + the stock cooler is also nice (planning on upgrading later). 850w Gold is also gonna be good for 3rd gen cpus. They say that the 3rd gen CPU are going to be better then the intels right now. So for now choice 2 will have better performance but in the future choice 1 with 3rd gen cpu will I think.

CHOICE 2: 9700K is insane and overclocking even better, it's only not looking as fancy in the old sharkoon and no rgb in cooler. Choice 2 will now have better performance then choice 1 but maybe in the future not. Does anyone now if the current motherboards will match the next intel cpus comming 2019?

Choice 1 and 2 are the same price. Which one should I get?

Also are the components of either choices gonna work great together?

Ty for the help! have a nice day!

The only reason you'd consider picking a 850W PSU would be if you were going to use a SLI setup. As far as I can tell, the smaller the nm (7nm) the less power consumption. So theoretically, 650W will still be great for the future. If you insist on a larger PSU, go for 750W then. And yes, choice 1 has a better upgrading path.

On the other hand, the only reason you would upgrade your future system would be to change from DDR4 to DDR5, and at that point you'd change your whole system anyway apart probably the PSU.

At least in my opinion, and I am very sure, that will not be only in my opinion. Go for choice 1. It has more upgrade ability, I think even more performance in some cases, the pc case is also very beautiful, etc. If i were you, I would go for choice 1, but YOU are the one that needs to decide. Is your money, your computer.
BUT, i really recommend you the AMD way. (choice 1)
Hope I helped you! :D

Why don't you wait for 3rd gen to be out? i7-6700 and RTX2070 will be more than enough for the current game titles. Plus, get a cheaper PSU like RM650x. 850W is too much for that system.

If you don't want to wait, then go for choice 1. Save some money from the PSU though and get G. Skill's FlareX 16GB 3200C14, will be much better for Ryzen ;)

Choice 1 because of the upgrade ability in the future? and ty for the answer. I will think about it ! but thinking about the future xD maybe 850W is a little overkill so 750 for the future? Corsair TX750M Gold?

let's say I'm not upgrading for the next 3 years, do u think CHOICE 2 would be better then, I saw a huge amount of fps difference between 9700K and 2700X

Keep in mind that if you choose to go with 9700K you'll have to buy a pretty good air or hydro cooler as 9700K running pretty hot even on stock settings. Intel CPUs due to higher single core speed are better for gaming but, do you really believe that paying the difference is really worth it for a few FPS boost? Just get Samsung B-Die rams (like G. Skill FlareX 16GB 3200C14) and the gap won't be that big. In my honest opinion, even if I use a 8700K, at this moment Ryzen 7 2700X offers a better VFM.
