I’m putting together this build primarily for gaming, specifically Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Black Ops 6, aiming for 140–160 FPS at 1440p (2K) on high settings. The build has a white aesthetic, which is a key priority for me alongside high performance. I plan to use this setup for at least 4 years before upgrading. I’m debating whether to stick with the Intel Core i7-14700K or switch to the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, as I’ve heard AMD performs well in gaming scenarios. Additionally, I’m wondering if the RTX 4070 Ti Super is future-proof enough for my gaming needs or if I should hold out for the NVIDIA 5000 series.

Specs

  • Monitor: MSI MAG 271 QPX E2
  • Processor (CPU): Intel Core i7-14700K (14th Gen, 20 cores, 5.6GHz boost) OR Ryzen 7 7800X3D
  • Graphics Card (GPU): MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB (White Edition)
  • Motherboard: MSI MPG Z790 Edge TI MAX WiFi (DDR5, PCIe 5.0)
  • RAM (Memory): Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5 32GB (6000MHz, CL30)
  • Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NVMe SSD (PCIe 4.0)
  • Power Supply (PSU): Corsair RM1000x (1000W, 80+ Gold, modular)
  • Cooling System: NZXT Kraken Elite 360 RGB AIO (White, 360mm)
  • Case: Lian Li 011 Vision Compact Mid-Tower (White)
  • Additional Cooling: Lian Li SL-Infinity 120 RGB Uni Fans (Triple Pack) x2
Prices for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D in my country are very high, making it a tough decision whether it’s worth the extra cost compared to the Intel i7-14700K. GPUs are also hard to find locally, and I was lucky to find this MSI RTX 4070 Ti Super in white, which fits perfectly with the aesthetic I want for my build.

Let me know if the Intel i7-14700K or Ryzen 7 9800X3D is the better choice for gaming, especially with longevity in mind, and whether the RTX 4070 Ti Super is sufficient or if waiting for the NVIDIA 5000 series would be smarter for future-proofing. Appreciate your feedback!

You're just repeating the discussion in this thread;
all over again, after 7 months.

And where would this country be on the Atlas?

I also wouldn't invest in anything NZXT after the latest hit piece by Gamers Nexus. They were subpar on most case designs anyway.

Hi there! I'm from Dubai, and prices for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D are very high here, which has made it a tricky decision. Regarding the "7 months" comment, yes, I was planning this build a while ago but decided to hold off until the end of this year to see how prices and availability change.

As for the NZXT, I completely get your point, but I’m choosing the Kraken purely for the LCD screen—it’s something I’ve always wanted to add a unique touch to the build.

Thanks for your input, though! Let me know if you have any additional advice.

The prices for that cpu are insane everywhere. I would wait a month for the price to drop down.

I was born and raised in Dubai, U.A.E actually. As @Why_Me has stated, it's globally. NZXT's AIO's are trash, have been since they introduced the Z series of AIO's. There are other methods to get an LCD in your build, JayzTwoCents has a video or two or more on how to add a panel in your build. In fact if you're looking at AIO's you shouldn't look any farther than the Arctic Liquid Freezer III AIO's.

If you're asking for our opinions, my suggestion would be to weigh in on how long you want to hold onto the build and how much you're paying for said build. We(this site)'re located in USA and as such parts availability and pricing can and will vary per region.
