Hi,

I have a GTX970 MSI 4GB GPU. I was hoping to see what motherboard and cpu you guys would recommend?

It will be for all round use really. I will be mainly gaming the Total War series. I Only need a mobo and CPU. ( I currently have DDR3 ram. I am aware I will have to buy DDR4 ram to make it work)

I was hoping to spend around £250 for the CPU/MOBO/Ram. I am open to AMD and Intel. (I haven't used AMD before so i don't know how they fair against intel)

Solution
Try and sell your old hardware.

AMD is very good for budget builds, they are very good CPU, but they do lack behind Intel in some specific areas. But that's no reason to turn down a cpu for 150 that can keep up with i7-8700 in most areas.

Your best plan would be this. These prices I notice are a bit higher than usual, so you may be able to get a better deal next week on Ram at least.
