i am building a pc for the first time mostly next week. i'm just waiting for the graphics card, the gtx 1080 to come. i have an idea on how to do it. i have watched countless of youtube videos.

i can say i am nervous, 2k pc build on my first time is a bit scary. but the area around me, the pc builders are expensive they add alot of money on top of how much it should cost.

anyhows, theres no going back now. any tips for my building the pc will be welcome :) anything that will help me will be awesome.

MY build process:

Before anything, while waiting for your parts to be delivered, download
and read, cover to cover your case and motherboard manual.
Buy a #2 magnetic tip phillips screwdriver.

1. I assemble all the parts outside of the case.
That lets me test them for functuonality easily.
A wood table or cardboard is fine.
2. Plug in only the necessary parts at first. Ram, cpu, cooler, psu.
Do not force anything. Parts fit only one way.
Attach a monitor to the integrated motherboard adapter.
3. If your motherboard does not have a PWR button, momentarily touch the two pwr front panel pins
4. Repeatedly hit F2 or DEL, and that should get you into the bios display.
5. Boot from a cd or usb stick with memtest86+ on it. memtest...
the area of the build you have to be care full is the cpu install and the pins on the mb. new cpu are keyed make sure you line the cpu up or you smash the pins. some mb vendors will have you remove the cpu cover and some wont. look at the cpu install guild to see if they want you to remove the black cover. before you install the cpu use a led flashlight to check the pins. on the case make sure the metal mb sheild pop and locks in if not the mb wont sit right on mb standoffs. with the mb empty install the cpu standoff and dry fit the mb. install the ram..memory and cpu and cpu cooler then install the mb. may want to use a magnet and a (+) tip screw driver with a metal tip to keep the mb standoff screws from falling inside the case. when installing fans/mb cables make sure you dont miss any pins. if you do you can short out the mb.

6. Install windows.
7. Install the motherboard cd drivers. Particularly the lan drivers so you can access the internet.
Do not select the easy install option, or you will get a bunch of utilities and trialware that you don't want. Drivers only.
7. Connect to the internet and install an antivirus program. Microsoft security essentials is free, easy, and unobtrusive.
8. Install your graphics card and update it's driver.
9. Update windows to currency.
10. Only now do I take apart what I need to and install it in the case.
