Question PC completely freezes and crashes ?

Okey update:

I have tried with the other gpu and it still crashed. I also tried entering safe mode using 3 different methods but none of them work.

This is what I see when I try to enter safe mode:

Scanning and repairing C: drive Complete

Then it just reboots and says Welcome and loads but wont enter in to windows. So I have to shut the pc down and then start it again.

Can It be a virus or something, because whenever I try to download malwarebytes it won’t even open or show, after the installation it just disappears.

What can I do now? Should I reinstall windows on the drive and only keyboard and mouse plugged in? Or what else can I try?

alright that might explain some of the recent problems, but I’ve had these crashes for almost 2 years. Well now it has gotten way worse, and it just crashes every time I boot up and have been on the homescreen for a bit.

Should I now reinstall windows as you said? And Is there also a chance that some of my components is still faulty and crashing the pc? I’ve been thinking maybe the motherboard or cpu? Those are the only things I haven’t tested with another.

Edit: Yes or well it was a refurbished one, but I bought it in store, but someone had probably just returned it and they repackaged it. Because one day my old psu just died and the only psu that was close to me in stock was the Rm850x.

Do an installation with the first disk you have + keyboard + mouse and we'll see what happens

you’ve these crashes for almost 2 years and you did nothing
I can't know what exactly you've been doing these past 2 years.
Go ahead with a fresh install and see what happens.

I have tried everything I can think of except bought a new motherboard and cpu, everything else I have tried, but nothing has worked. Thats why Im thinking it might be the motherboard but I have no idea. So yeah I understand you can’t know what I have done but im thankful for the help.

But yeah I’ll try new install :)

Hello update:

I tried to reinstall windows on my newest ssd drive but it won’t let me, I cannot delete it, cannot reformat it, nothing. Its like it doesn’t want to get erased.

I tried using drive manager, and cmd with diskpart. But everytime I say Clean, and then try to download the drive has all the files in it again. Its extremely weird.

But I managed to reinstall new windows on my old ssd drive and it’s not crashing anything yet. So maybe the new ssd drive was faulty or corrupted? Or a virus got downloaded into it?

I will try running malwarebytes with the newest ssd plugged in tomorrow if i can succeed in entering safe mode, with it plugged in.

But for the other problem, the one that made it crash before. Do you think that can be faulty hardware?

who is your new ssd?
 
It is a random one from amazon called "Intenso 2.5 SSD HIGH 120GB"
I just bought it to try if it was my old ssd that was crashing the pc, but it wasn't or atleast I don't think so because my pc crashed with the new Intenso ssd also.

This disk doesn't work, friend, find a way to format it (connect it as an external one) and have it for storage.
 
Ohh damn okay, I shouldn't have bought that one then, but yes I think I will return it in that case. Alright thank you very much, I will order one of those today. I will update if anything happens :)

update:

So I've been playing now for a couple of days. and I have had 1 time yesterday where the pc freezes and the game freezes for like 1-2 minutes then it starts again, then total freezes the pc again. What I could see at the time using Rivatuner, was that when this happened, the gpu usage went to zero. I don't know if that is supposed to happen or if it might indicate something.

And just now while playing Metro Exodus the pc froze, but this time I could use my second monitor and open discord and Hwinfo, but it is still extremely sluggish and slow. But on my main monitor with the game, Im unable to do anything, I tried Alt + F4, did not do anything, and I couldn't open task manager as it was on my main monitor where the game had froze. I could only restart my pc to get it working again. Unfortunately I don't have any events or so in Event Viewer except this:

Event 6008, EventLog: The previous system shutdown at 8:12:26 PM on ‎1/‎6/‎2025 was unexpected.

And this

Event 41, Kernel Power: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

And this
Event 1101, EventLog: Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0


I used HwInfo at the time so I have a log file of when I was playing, would that be of help?
 
Update again,

Now when Im playing I can see using HwInfo that my virtual memory load goes up all the way to 97%, is this maybe what causes freezing? Is my memory running out and causing the pc to crash? I haven’t seen this earlier.. My average virtual memory load is 94%, but my physical memory is only 43% average.
 
I will check the memory now.

I don't know which drive it uses the memory from. Because I have my m.2 crucial ssd that I have all my games on and other programs like unigine and hwinfo etc, then I have my old sata ssd where I have windows and apps like spotify and discord. Or does it take memory from both my drives maybe, so both slow it down?

I have ordered a new sata ssd now so I will also try with that on friday.

But I did tests just now using CrystalDiskMark and here are my speeds for my drives:

As you see my sata drive is very slow, or at least I think so, it doesn't look fast lol.

And when I play games I never have Opera gx or chatgpt open, I always close it. So I don't know what is eating up the memory. I always have minimal programs running, when playing a game, like discord and steam, then also Icue, Wallpaper Engine, RivaTuner and MSI Afterburner in the background. I also haven't had malwarebytes before , only since a couple of days.
 
I downloaded Hwmonitor and this is my temp for crucial ssd, I also started Metro and played for a bit and the max temps are always around 40 C:

The temp for my sata ssd is around 30 C.
