As mentioned in the title,

I am confused as to figure out which parts I want to use.... Originally I was thinking of going with a 13700k and a RTX 3090 (maybe 3090 Ti EVGA) but now I changed my mind and wanted a RTX 4090 but I don't want to pay +$2,000 for a 4090.... The RTX 3090 seemed to be tempting, but I am not sure now.

As for the 13700K that's what I wanted originally but with this recent launch of the 14th gen which was a total flop, but there was one CPU that stuck out.... The 14700k, but the only advantage of the 14700k is an extra +4 E-Cores, which is great for multi-threaded applications, but when it comes to single core applications, the 13700k seemed like a better option...

Now I am not sure which to get, 13700k + RTX 3090/3090 Ti

OR

i7 14700k + RTX 4090 or 4090 Super?

Help me to decide
Start here:

if its for gaming: 7800X3D

as for the GPU, look at the resolution that you want to play in. 4k? get the 4090.

2k? 4080 is more than capable. if Ray tracing is not the go all for you.

CPU will matter less than the cpu for gaming. Wonder what something like the 12900k looks like vs the 14700k?

As far as gpu if ray tracing isn’t a big deal, might look at the amd rx 7900xtx. Friend of mine had a 3090 and had nvidia for years before that. Upgraded to an amd rx 7900xtx and loves it. Thinks the thing is a beast.

Other way to look at it the 7900xtx should be similar performance to a 4080, so you could get that and the 14th generation cpu if you want. Or if you go off the rails totally, go am5 and maybe a 7800x3d cpu or higher and have future upgrade ability. Says the guy who just bought a 12600k:)
