Hey everyone,
I'm not usually one for posting any threads, but I'm tearing my hair out.
I've upgraded from a 2070 to a 5070ti 2 days ago. The install was smooth, no issues, used DDU to uninstall my drivers and downloaded new ones.
Now, I usually play Apex with my girlfriend, and it regularly crashes as it's just not a well-taken care of game, so it crashes everyime about an hour into running it, even on my old GPU. However, now with the new 5070ti, it's not just Apex that crashes, whereas previously, it was. From crashing in League of Legends, or Valorant, or the aforementioned Apex, nothing seems to be safe. The freezes/crashes consist primarily of the image freezing, but sound continuing, but I'm uncertain if the sound is accurate, or just cycling randomly.
I've tried lots of things, from reinstalling all the games, removing the NVIDIA app, reinstalling the drive4rs, playingh without G-Sync, playing with G-Sync, and I can't wrap my head around it. I'm just about to do a fresh install of Windows, which I'm again going to pair with a fresh install of the drivers, but I am at a loss. It even seems as if, when I move my mouse too rapidly on my 2nd or 3rd non-main monitor, it stutters and freezes as well, which it's never done before?
Any advice is massively appreciated.
My rig:
CPU = Intel Core i9 12900KS
MOBO= Z790 Aorus Elite AX
32GB Ram
GPU = Gigabyte RTX 5070ti Windforce
CPU cooler = Noctua NH D15
PSU = Corsair RM750x
UPDATE:
After running Baldur's Gate 3 to see if it crashed (which worked perfectly fine on Monday morning, but in the evening it started crashing just as much as any other game), it actually gave me an error: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG.
I've been following fixes posted online. Did a bunch of different regedits which people were saying helped- no help. Did a fresh Windows install twice, both times followed by using DDU to fully clean my drivers, first time installing the newest driver, didn't solve. Secondly I redid the clean install, DDU and all, and installed the oldest driver listed, no solve either. I'm about to jump into the bios as some people have said dropping PCIe to 4.0 in the BIOS...
Any more insight still massively appreciated, I'd like to see this work properly...
