[SOLVED] PC crashes, screen turns off, everything freezes but audio still plays ?

Hi all. i have this strange problem with my pc. been trying to fix it for a month but im out of ideas. my pc started doing this thing, you could be doing anything like gaming, work, watching videos etc, and the screen would go black and the pc would completely freeze forcing me to do a hard reset. i looked in windows reliability history and saw a warning saying "Hardware Error" here are the details.

here is my system specs
Motherboard: Asus P9X79 DELUXE
CPU: Intel Core i7 4930k
GPU: NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1660 TI
corsair 1000W PSU


here is the things i have tried to do to fix it:

• Updating GPU drivers
• buying new GPU
• Tested RAM
• did a clean install of windows 3 times
• Tried installing windows to an SSD, a 7200RPM HDD, and a 10,000RPM HDD
• Tried taking everything apart and cleaning it
• Tried updating PCI drivers
• Tried BIOS reset
• tried swapping around sata connectors

I'm all out of ideas to try and fix my pc. so im letting you guys have a crack at it :]

I know you tested your ram, but you can try using one stick of ram at a time and see if problem persists. Other than your mouse and keyboard what if anything do you have plugged into the pc externally or even internally like sata hd's?

I tried taking the ram out. Didn’t work. I also tried taking all of my external sats hdds out a while ago and it didn’t work. All of my external USB devices were working fine on my old pc about 6 months ago. But I did recently buy a new mouse around the time my pc started playing up. Do you think my new mouse could be the problem? It’s a Corsair wireless mouse.

if you remove this corsair wireless mouse and use the old one do you have the issue .

I will try doing that and I’ll update you on what happens. Could just be a faulty mouse. Thanks for the suggestion:]

ok so i tried removing the corsair gaming mouse and the pc still crashes.

After about 5 months, I finally figured out the motherboard was the cause of the problem. I just build a whole new computer in the end.
