Question PC crashes under stress with perfectly fine thermals

I have an i5 6400 running on a b150 mobo with rx 580 2048SP. When I'm playing cpu intensive games (elden ring sometimes, warframe, thehunte cotw etc.) the PC crashes with a solid background, but the pc is running. I have AK400 cooler and it's barely doing anything, even before crashing. The temps are always below 60 degress. I tried disabling XMP, locking to base clock but to no avail. I don't plan on having this setup for long but is there a way to fix this issue in the meantime or is the cpu damaged? This issue has been going on before the gpu and psu upgrade
