OK, so I have had this problem ever since I built my custom PC. I have checked almost everything. Software, RAM, GPU. Everything except the MOBO and CPU. But, I have noticed that when the crash occurs, in the event logs, I get the error: "The Intel(R) HD Graphics Control Panel Service service terminated with the following error:
%%-2147467259". I also get an error: "Faulting application name: igfxCUIService.exe, version: 6.15.10.3621, time stamp: 0x5376e21a". I'm no expert but isn't the "igfxCUIService" something to do with the graphics? So I was just wondering if this could be behind the crashes.

I'll post my system details below, thank-you.

CPU: Intel Core I5-3570 Processor
Mobo: ASRock H77M
RAM: Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB)
PSU: Corsair CX750M
GPU: Nvidia GTX 770 2GB
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

First of all, there is only one display adapter that shows up in Device Manager, which is the GPU. Second, the strangest thing just happened. I was doing a clean installation of all my Nvidia drivers and my PC crashed. It is the only time it has crashed when not gaming or after gaming..

The crash talks about the Intel HD service, find it and disable it, see if that helps.

Sorry I've accidentally gave you best solution. Onboard graphics will only usually be a problem if they are ATI and you are installing an Nvidia GPU.

I'm really sorry for bumping an old thread but isn't this service related to Intel HD on board graphic cards? shouldn't it be disabled with those having dedicated GPUs?

I had this problem when I first built my PC and then I deleted the igfxCUIService.exe in System32. After almost a year this problem showed up again right now with the PC freezing and I have to hold the power button. I went through the action center and opened problems and reports and found the ah heck again. It crashed exactly when my PC froze up looking at the time.

I opened up the services manager and disabled it there like an hour ago. Still testing though.. I can't believe no one found a solution to this problem. I looked everywhere on the internet.

It's ok, I deleted my post. But I have an Nvidia card myself.. GTX 770 ACX, same card. That's why I bumped this old thread. Here is my problem in detail:

Deleting the file solved it for back when I first built my PC. Now it reappeared again somehow.
