Hello,

So a few weeks ago I bought an RTX 4080 and ever since I installed it my PC isn't working correctly.
When i start the computer up it boots up fine, but after a few minutes after logging in, my PC just starts lagging and eventually completely freezes before rebooting.
When it reboots there is a brief DRAM light on the motherboard.
I could really use some help.
greetings tiebe

is the GPU new or used?

which power supply are you using?

check RAM with memtest

which GPU was installed before?

how hot is the GPU and CPU getting?
The gpu is used but i tested it at a friends and it works fine there.
The ram is brand new.
These are my specs:
Motherboard: MSI Tomahawk B650 WiFi
CPU: Ryzen 7 7700X
GPU: Asus Rog Strix RTX 4080 OC
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32GB
PSU: Corsair RM850e

Previous gpu was a 4060
CPU temps are higher then before, i have watercooling and at statup it reaches 60-70 celcius but cools down once everything is started up

update the BIOS of your motherboard
check the brand new RAM with memtest 😉
Hey,
Just did a clean install of windows and also did a bios update.
I tested the RAM and that also was fine.
At first my refresh rate was set to 60 HZ and that worked fine, but as soon as i put it on 165 Hz it started to freeze and crash again.
I am going crazy over this i haven't been able to use my computer for so long now.
Thanks for the response though !
