I purchased a radeon 7850 core edition to replace my 7450. Before with my 7450 my PC could run games at the best it could for as long as I wanted. But now when i use the 7850 my PC crashes between 15 minutes to 45 ( depending on the game im playing). When i bought the 7850 i also upgraded my PSU to a corsair 650W which is plenty enough to run all the specs. I know the PSU is not faulty because i tried it with my old 7450 and the PC ran fine again.
Also when under heavy loads before crashing there are two things that always happen. 1. My monitor displays faint flickering bars passing by my screen as if it was an old cheap television. 2. There is an almost painful to the ears high pitched 'whirring' sound coming from the case which i cannot figure out which part is making.
And finally which makes this even more of a mystery to me is that i know somebody who works with a person who is very savvy with PCs so i lent it to them to try and figure out what was happening. They used the same power plugs as i did and for him somehow the PC could run games for as long as he wanted. Brought the PC home and still crashes for me.
Specs: 3rd generation intel i5, 8gb RAM (not shure what brand ), corsair 650W power supply, radeon 7850 core edition 1gb, hard drive ( not sure how much storage).
If you have any questions please ask, or any solutions you can think of please share them with me. Thank You.
