Pc crashing whenever launching games

Short and simple :
I launch gta. Screen flickers. Screen crashes. I sometimes get a pop-up saying "failed to initialise" or I get the blue screen if death.

What have I done to try fix :
Clean reinstall of Nvidia drivers.
Removed Nvidia and reinstalled.
Verified game cache.

What i have learnt :
Gta will run using Intel graphics without problem when Nvidia is disabled. Once enabled problem comes back.

My specs:
I7
960M
16Gb RAM

Note :
Not an overheating issue. Cpu and MoBo sit below 70°. Gpu sits below 55°.

Update : Turns out a capacitor near the gpu had been torn out. replacement on the way ~
