Hi all, I've used this site for building computers many times and love the results. I am not sure if this is the right forum to post in so if it should go elsewhere lmk. Otherwise here it goes.

So I am asking for advice for my little Bro. He's using Ironside computer's which I believe will build the computer for him. He and I came up with this selection (see link) and would appreciate feedback or alternative choices. Budget wise is around 700 to not more than say 880. The games he wants to play and the desired settings/game play are:

1. CSgo- mid to high graphic settings but with as minimal lag

2. Minecraft- High settings with practically no lag,

3. Valorant same as csgo,

4. rust mid to high settings with no lag, and

5. practically other games that require the same amount of frames

Deeply appreciate yalls time =)

Thank you so much for the advice. We are tempted to try and build ourselves. Given what expectations I've mentioned before would this be okay?

I would put less money on the CPU and more money on the video card and power supply. Also don't need the cooler, the included ones with the CPUs are good enough unless you are doing overclocking, put the savings towards other parts.

Video card may be an issue, seems the 1660 Super is sold out or priced crazy now. I don't even know what to get now that is available in the $200-250 range, most is out of stock or prices are way over normal. Maybe look for a used one locally so you can test it or see it running, a 1070 is good and should be...

A PC with those specs should run your games just fine. I would recommend you change the 1tb hard disk drive for a solid state one (it's worth it).You just need a display and you are set to go.

So I was informed the link didn't load correctly. Here are the specs
Intel Core i5 9400 f hexa core
Motherboard h310 chipset
16GB ddr4 Ram,
primary storage 240gb SSD,
secondary storage 1tb HDD,
power supply 500w 80 plus,
graphics card GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB

You want a faster video card, the 1650 is OK but on the lower side of things, it's OK for lower spec games or mid quality at 1080 TODAY, in a few years or if you want to run other games you will wish it was faster.

I would go with a 1660 super to last a few years and it's only about $40-50 more which is nothing in the overall cost of the system.

You need to buy at least one more if not 2 more fans for the case, need a front intake and a top exhaust is a good idea. Ideally two more intake for the front and one for the top, that will add some extra cost.
While more money, this is a very good case and comes with two fans, not a cheap pick but a top quality one https://www.amazon.com/Fractal-Desi...3J1Q0EZA6124&refRID=SVT0BBQ13J1Q0EZA6124&th=1

This is another cheaper option with dual fans, and comes with RGB https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-...EWC43DHY3T1&psc=1&refRID=TB5JT10S1EWC43DHY3T1

The Intel i5-10400 is on sale now for $150 and would be a good pick https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i5-104...A2Z2S5TMXHH&psc=1&refRID=XX2T41PEDA2Z2S5TMXHH
Make sure you change the motherboard to an Intel one if you going with this.

If you want to keep to AMD, also a very good pick, Ryzen 5-2600x with a decent cooler for $178 https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-Pr...1&keywords=ryzen+5-2600&qid=1606705307&sr=8-3

Or this Ryzen 7 for $230 with an LED cooler https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-Pr...ild=1&keywords=ryzen+i7&qid=1606705391&sr=8-2

While not the latest versions the last gen Ryzen CPUs are still strong parts and are cheap enough that I think the cost savings is well worth it.

Corsiar CXM is good for a power supply https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Bron...d=1&keywords=corsair+cx&qid=1606705487&sr=8-2
I like the modular ones, keeps the case tidy and easier to work with.

This model may also be a good pick, Super Flower Leadex is a very good PSU range https://www.amazon.com/Fanless-Modu...rds=super+flower+leadex&qid=1606705569&sr=8-2
