PC degradation over several months. I don't know what to do anymore. Please help?

First thing's first: sorry about the very long post in advance.
Second off:
Build...
- CPU: i7-4790k
- RAM: G.SKILL SNIPER 2x8 2133
- GPU: Gigabyte G1 gaming 980 to
- PSU: EVGA 1050 Supernova
- CUP Cooler: Dark Rock Pro 3
- SSD: Samsung 850 evo
- Case: fractal design r5

Before continuing, understand that I have done mass amounts of trouble shooting, and have thus, at least practically, eliminated all software/driver/malware concerns or possibilities.

Troubleshooting (most of these were done multiple times in different sequential orders)::
- ccleaner registry cleaner
- DDU nvidia drivers
- full/offline scan
- reinstalled CPU cooler
- Reset CMOS
- full reset pc
- flashed BIOS
- cleaned PC
(Most recently:::)
- rewired/cable management
- cleaned/reset ram
- cleaned PSU
- ran And PASSED memtest86 with 0 errors.

Starting point:

Whelp... I started O'cing. I was having an immense amount of fun too! In PC'S hayday i was 24th in the WORLD for my build on 3D mark. No, Seriously, you can look it up.
Then, slowly but surely...
*shit hit the fan*

Detioration over time...

1) 3D mark cpu scores, weren't as good as they originally were (did some tweaking received varying +\- scores, still not where it was.

2) A few random inconsistent BSOD's
Including whey_uncorrectable and a few others.

2) PC Shuts down, and either turns on for a few seconds, or nothing at all (before full reset).

3) once stable OC No longer stable.

What is happening currently?

NO OC and NO post 1/3 of the time...
Anytime i enter BIOS and change even a minor setting(sometimes nothing at all) then exit. PC Shuts down for 3-10 seconds before powering on again. It then gets caught at initial windows logo. If computer loads into OS it's fine, which has been the case throughout this rollercoaster.

Conclusion::

I am almost certain it's a hardware issue at this point, just unsure as to which part. If you are curious as to what was occurring throughout the deterioration period... Please, refer to my all my previous threads. Detailing what was occuring and when, or if need be I would be happy to answer.

Thank you for your time.

Solution
PROBLEM FIXED!
I wound up clearing the cmos, resetting everything to default values, followed immediately by reflashing the bios, no more weird issues, still the clicking noise, but all's well for now.. Thanks for all the help and valuable knowledge.
perehaps look at your mobo going the way of the dodo?

if you cant get to windows some times then it could be a ssd issue, but if youre hanging on bios ... then a hard look at the mobo is where i would want to start. - not the easiest thing to test, i mean replacing the ssd with a spare hhd would pretty much eliminate dodgy ssd instantly.

did your mobo come with a drivers disk?
you most definietly looked at your event viewer when it did work? + chkdsk for drive consistancy ... its an ssd and under poor management? eg you did nothing to it at all, it wont last as long as what the piece of paper says.
if you can afford the 24th most powerful pc, surely you could stretch to buying a new + cheap secondry hdd for testing + storage; a new/spare psu to eliminate any power concerns (even just a small one and remove all the extra components, run the computer bare bones).

start looking at cpu / mobo imo. hopefully youre running win7 because it can sometimes accept a new mobo transplant without need for re-install.

Wow, Thank you! Best reply I have yet to receive.
1) Yes, it did come with drivers disk, but I haven't used it since; clearing cmos, resetting the PC, and flashing the bios... Didn't think i would need to?? Interestingly, in hindsight, BSODs occurred shortly after deleting all the msi bloatware (shit load of other programs/apps) followed by a registry cleaner-- though I believe this issue, at least in part, was fixed with full reset (No more BSODs).

2) I feel like a pleb, event viewer?? Did some searching, sounds like a fantastic tool! Nobody has ever mentioned it to me before, thanks man. Next time I get into the bios, I will post the results!

3) chkdisk??? SSD's defragment and organize themselves.. low maintnence.. I have kept up with cleaning out junk files and the like. Plus, after reset and initial setup I ran a registry cleaner, to clear remaining/inconsistent registry from prior to reset, if that's what you mean?

4) As fortune has it, I do have an extra 4tb hdd, collecting dust. Purchased it for this build, but never used it! I will try and swap it out asap, and post results. Unfortunately, no spare psu, may just RMA it if your other suggestions don't work, before buying new mobo.

5) Massive overhaul of hardware is unfortunately, not possible. Worked 60 hours a week when I built it, wound up waisting a lot of money for college classes. So, now I am full time student, no job, and no money lol. Plus, score was primarily resulting from GPU, it's a monster and has never gone above 70.

On the bright side, checked to see if mobo rma was still intact, alas, it was not. However, Amazon cancelled order for some odd reason, and apparently I've had a free mobo for 2 years hehe.

Thanks again! Very concise/helpful.
Plus, over the last week i have been leaning heavily towards mobo, but with no second opinion.
Usually it is just a link to million point checklist to ensure mobo. Or, my favorite, it could be "literally" anything, which granted is often times true.

I will post with results soon.

Thank you, William. I will! Heading to pc now.
Wow, so this wasn't just me! Whew. Yeah, wound up getting back on PC after a week, and a virus was found from defender, and you guessed it, from ccleaner. Eliminated virus. Deleted/uninstalled ccleaner. Ran full and offline scan.

Sorry about late update...
I've been very busy.
Anywho, so far I have checked event viewer. Found 1 error in setupcl: sclregprocessuser hiveregistryprofile: required profile hive not found. Not sure what it means besides setup ran into an error at some point?? Also event viewer only exists 8/30- 8/31, date of last reset?
I then ran chkdisk (f). Seemed to work correctly.
I also enabled xmp, and ran memtest86 with it enabled (first thing I did). (4/4 passed 0 errors).
I also checked mobo, did not notice any bulging discoloration, but cooler covered view for a few of them, will do more thourough check later.
After above steps.
I reset pc and entered/exited bios to check troubleshooting. No change. Exit bios. PC shuts down for a few seconds. Turns back on posts to windows logo. Remains.
Other noteworthy points::
Checked core temp and noticed cores temperatures, 2-8 degrees difference. I'm sure that is indicative of uneven cooler install/paste. Though unsure if it would be causing noted problems? ( I also vaguely remember, getting slight amount of thermal paste on top of near mobo capacitor. I cleaned it off as best i could, still very slight grey seemed to remain. In hindsight, what i thought was thermal paste may have been slight discoloration of capacitor??
Will, reinstall, again *sigh*. It is a bitch of a process though, and may take a while.i will also follow through with temporary hdd switch. Check results.
In the mean time please leave your thoughts on the updated situation.
Thanks again:)

Btw, SoggyTissues only unelected best answer for time being to hopefully get some more views/responses. Just wanted to let ya know. No offense

@William p thank you for replying! I would like to avoid pc firecrackers at all costs...
Update:: have not done so yet, sorry, it is truly the bane of my existence, and have been busy with tests.
However, I did do some rewiring, flipped osu off of eco mode, reread mobo/psu manual, turned off eco mode, cleared CMOS, unplugged disk player---
Used windows fresh start (clean install) option, as sticking on the windows logo was odd, and I only ever did a reset, and prior to flashing bios.
After doing so I updated windows, and installed drivers from msi website (couldn't do killer network, as it said to insert killer network disk, which I did not have, don't think it's a big deal??)

I then re connected disk drive.

Re-update:: first time entering BIOS, I set time/date, enabled xmp, exited no problem (whew!).. Difference, I did not 'load optimized defaults' or enable smart fan...
Fun did not last, unfortunately this only worked the first time entering/exiting, not the second, and so on, next time entering, I enabled smart fan for system fans, and problem relapsed... (interestingly, for the longest time my re at exhaust fan, will not start up, unless I manually kick start it, by pushing it).---
Good news, though the problem has not gone away it no longer gets hung up at windows logo!! (besides obviously loading system diagnostics, for unaccounted crash, and only sometimes.)

Final update:: Pretty sure it's psu, as when my system is on, it makes a consistent inconsistent crackling noise, and only seldomly noticed it when switch was flipped to eco mode, sent in ram request, waiting for reply...
I'd really appreciate your thoughts on the updated situation @william p
Thank you, for your your time!
