Hello

I have built a "new" system recently and I've got everything to work well. Problemos happened when I wanted to add more ram into my pc.

Currently it has a single 4GB DDR3 ram stick, tho when I add one of the two DDR3-1600Mhz 2GB ones sitting in my house the computer won't post, looked into the motherboard's manual and it reads that it supports Dual channel DDR3-1066/1333/1600Mhz memories, it also posts with each one of them alone (replacing the 4GB one).

It's worth noting that all of them work on only the slot away from the cpu, the computer doesn't post if I put them on the one closer to the cpu.

Even tho the motherboard is brand new, could it be a fault with its DIMM slot?
I'd love to hear your suggestions

Specs:
H61 ENIGMA
I5 2400
GTX 1050
Advance 350W PSU
4GB RAM

Well my ram cocktail used to work on my old toaster,

Trying each one individually on the specific slot away from the cpu still works, though when I add any of the sticks to the closer one the pc won't post.

How do I know if the issue is CPU related? I mean the mobo is brand spanking new, also made sure to not zap it with ESDs on assembly.

In that case you need to check the CPU socket for bent pins.
A bent pin in the cpu socket is the most logical cause of a memory slot not working.
Late reply but I figured it out.
After swapping the i5 2400 for an i5 3550 it seems like the problem's solved
Now as to what was causing it, it might be that there was a tiny hair like thread blocking some pins from contact with the socket pins that I found stuck to some of the cpu "contact plates" after taking it off, none of the socket pins were bent by the way.

So yea tldr one should clean their CPUs before installation! :d
