Hello Guys,

All of sudden, at random moment my PC fails to BOOT.

All fans spin, the led on Motherboard is ON, but the monitor is blank. (I dont hear the boot beep from the mobo)

To resolve the issue:
I turn off the PC.
I unplug the SATA Cable/Power Cable from HDD 1 (Boot Drive on SATA 0) and plug it again.
It works normal again.

Motherboard: Asus m5a97 le r2.0
Hard Drive: Samsung 500GB (HD502HI)

Please let me know if you need more info..!

All I want to know is, is this a HDD problem or the Motherboard

I have tried using different cables/different SATA slots... Nothing worked.!

Hey there, Varadha.

Your HDD seems to be fine according to the SMART data you've posted. Anyway, I'd recommend that you run some more in-dept diagnostic tests by downloading the HDD manufacturer's diagnostic tool (or a 3rd party one if the manufacturer doesn't offer such a tool) and test the driver for errors and bad sectors.
Other than that you could try resetting and/or updating your BIOS, to see if that fixes things up. Make sure that all the drivers are up to date as well (chipset, SATA controller, etc).

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes.

Oh I see, its more than 5 years now  I'll change it ASAP.

The report shows everything is fine, may be the problem is beyond the software's reach ??

Can I use this as my Backup Drive or just throw it ??

Sure, I'll do it right now Sir.!
