Hello! So I have a gtx 770 4gb vmemory gigabyte wjndforce an i5 4670k and 16gbs of ram, before buying battlefield 1 I looked at benchmarks to make sure it would be playable, the person had the exact same setup as mine same CPU GPU everything except I have more video card ram and ram. He gets about 40-55 fps on ultra and I'm struggling to keep 30 on medium settings. I wish I could give more details or be more specific about the problem I was just wondering if there's certain things I check to see why there's such a huge decrease in performance.

Solution
Yeah thats your problem, your CPU will be throttling at that temp, causing the bad performance.

you have a couple of options:
1) Remove the CPU heatsink and fan, clean off the old thermal paste, apply new, and re mount the cooler (be careful, the stock coolers can be a little tricky to get mounted right) and plug the fan back in.

2) Get a aftermarket upgraded cooler, like the Hyper 212 evo.

I would go for option 2, they are pretty cheap and it gives you the option to overclock your CPU if you wish.
Is it in all games? Do you have the latest drivers? Download Speccy and see if its overheating while gaming, Is it only in intense graphics games? These questions should help narrow it down =D

I believe it is in all games, i used to be able to run World of Warships well over 100 maxed out now theres some lag... and ok i will try speccy right now, thanks for helping! ill let you know the results from speccy.

I downloaded a core unparker and all 4 cores were unparked ill check clock speed and temps
first thing i see when i download speccy, CPU is running at 90 degrees celsius... could that be it?

even when im just watching youtube vids not even in game my cpu is running at 90-100...
