Hello,

Yesterday I was using my PC as normal, browsing the web, when it all of a sudden turned off.

It then turned on again, reached the POST screen, and turned off. It now continues this on/off loop but only rarely reaching the POST screen.

I've been reading your forums and followed the steps in this post: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems

But the problem still persisted so I tried disconnecting the fan and DVD drive in case it was a power issue.

The problem persisted so I tried taking out the motherboard battery, waiting an hour, then starting the PC.

Again the problem still persisted so I put the battery back in and tried resetting the CMOS but, you guessed it, the problem still persisted.

Through every attempt I've made to try and fix it myself I have only used 1 stick of RAM in the manufacturers recommended slot, I have had no BIOS beeps, and I have never got past the POST screen.

I'm running Windows 7 and my specs are:

Intel i7 4790
Asus H81-Gamer
Asus Nvidia GTX 770
2 x 4GB Crucial Ballistix Sport
2 x 1TB HDDs
ODD
Powercool 650W

I will pick some up tomorrow and try this.

Surely you have access to your email outside of work? If reseating the HSF doesn't work (no reason it should unless it fell off), I would email their support ASAP. If it is still under warranty they might have you RMA the board.

Do you have a spare PSU to try in it to rule that out?

Emailing their support requires a serial number for the motherboard which I don't have.

I do not have a spare PSU either. I might be able to borrow one at some point during the week to test though.

Ok so today I was able to get my hands on another PSU and the problem is still happening.

I only had the motherboard connected to the PSU. I tested twice using my own PSU and the one I borrowed.

So is it my motherboard that's at fault?

Yes Unless your cooler is loose and the thermal paste dried up that could easily be your problem. but other than that I would say yeah it is your motherboard.
