Hey, so I've had this problem basically ever since a bought my Computer (2-3 years ago). about a week after me using it I noticed my Computer would start freezing. I was kind of worried about it and tried opening it, seeing if I could see anything unusual but no. I then tried factory resetting it but it would'nt help. I kinda over the course of the past three years switched out every single part in my pc with a newer one but i STILL experience freezes:
GTX 660Ti --> Gigabyte GTX 770
I7 3770 --> I7 5820k
Some DDR3 RAM --> Ballista DDR4 8GB Ram
Moved Windows from 500GB Seagate harddisk to a kingston 120GB SSD
Some Motherboard --> Gigabyte X99 Gaming 5 Motherboard
Switched cases twice --> NZXT Noctis 450
Bequiet 740 Watt PSU --> Corsair RM 850 Watt
After switching all of these parts, factory resetting windows multiple times, trying too keep malware of my computer and keeping all drivers up to date as good as i can i truely don't know what to do now and that's why i'm asking for help now.

PS: The Freeze happens like this; Whenever it freezes I am unable to do anything whatsoever except from of course force shutting it down, the lights on my keyboard and mouse are still on, the fans in my pc still run but my screen is just frozen as well as the sound, although sometimes i hear a very disturbing and loud static noise when it freezes instead of simply the sound i was hearing while it crashed.

Well i have noticed my computer freezing more frequently when i play Black Ops 3, but it does freeze when I'm doing other stuff aswell like just wathing a stream or even nothing at all. Today while i was gone for a couple of minutes, came back and it was frozen, only thing that was open was skype.

Ok, interesting. I'd be inclined to think heat management/airflow could be at fault, but it's unlikely that would follow through various cases & setups - although monitoring temps is always a good idea!

You "moved" Windows from an HDD to SSD......did you clone? Or is this a clean install?
A clone takes everything with it. The good, the bad, the ugly. If this problem was OS related and you've cloned from the HDD to SSD, you took the route problem with you.

You said you've factory reset multiple times now......but never mentioned a clean install.

If that's the case (it was clone, has been reset time & again etc), then I would highly recommend a clean install. A factory reset is not as "clean" as it may suggest. It still carries things over.

I don't think it's the heat by any means. My temps are vary stable with a max temp of around 37 degrees idle. I didn't clone my OS from the HDD to the SSD, I installed Windows 7 fresh on the new SSD and then upgraded to Windows 10 later, i then tried using only the SSD for some time too see if the HDD was causing the freezes, while only using the SSD i still experienced freezes and i then installed the HDD aswell. But thanks anyways, if the solution isn't found any time soon I'll try clean installing everyithing in case that "somehow" still is the issue.

Well, the freezes happened before i even had the SSD and ran Windows on my HDD. But it's a V300 120GB yeah.

It's possible the SSD is bad.....especially the V300 tiny voices has mentioned. But the problem existed before the SSD came into play? It may still be bad, absolutely, but it's really strange the problem has been around this long.

Just to clarify, it froze on W7 on the HDD? Then W7 on the SSD (clean) and now W10 on the SSD (upgraded)?
If it didn't freeze with W7 on the SSD, but did after the W10 upgrade.....a clean install would be ideal there. Even removing the Windows.old folder does not fully remove 'traces' of the upgrade. That could well be the problem.

You are correct, but it froze at all times W7 on HHD, W7 on SSD and W10 on SSD. Allways froze. :/

Ok.......one other question.
Your Windows was/is legit (meaning you've activated with a key), but the image itself......where did you get that from? Was it an official disk? Or a downloaded ISO online?

I only ask, as hosting of the ISOs (not by MS or affiliates) can be infected themselves......although they do activate properly (as the key is the licensed element), they do sometimes have problems which may explain why. Assuming this is even the case. If it was an official disk or ISO, it's unlikely.

I bought the computer "Pre-built" three years ago. I chose different parts including windows 7. The computer was then sent to me including the windows 7 disk alongside with the product key. After using it work a couple of days it then started crashing randomly. Like said over the course of those 3 years every part in that old pc has been now switched out with a newer one which means i basically have a brand new computer atm. still experiencing freezes though.

Just out of curiosity, a couple of things that weren't mentioned yet. Are both systems using the same power outlet or have you tried another power outlet either in a completely different room or (better yet) another location (friend's house)? Is the system (old and new both) plugged straight into the wall outlet or through a power strip or surge protector?

Are you using the same mouse/keyboard with the new pc as you were the old one?

Basically assuming everything with windows is legit, factory copy on the disc, complete hardware swap with fresh installs etc., looking for other common denominators between the two systems that would possibly cause the same issue. The reason I mention the keyboard/mouse, usb can be problematic either from a hardware or software aspect. I've got one program I tried using and after 2-3min my keyboard would stop responding (usb) until I unplugged it and plugged it back in.

Edit: Deselected as best answer at op's request

Are you running audio from the GPU or on board? What are the temps while running blackops? it maybe just that the GPU is overheating or even the cpu, but if its just the screen its probably just the GPU overheating. If it were ram try to re-seat the DIMMs and test the ram, but it sounds more like a GPU issue.

Well... I don't actually remember my pc freezing at a friends house... but it might've still happened since I'm so used to it, that I don't remember whether or not it has ever happened at a friends house. But for now, that might be the solution... Or it definetally got me thinking it could be. I've had different gear over the time aswell, keyoard, mouse, monitor etc. So i don't think that's causing the issue.

It happened at all times, before and after.

I'm running it onboard. And I've done a stress test with AIDA64 as well a checked the temps while running BO3. Neither of which ever makes the temps surpass 60 degrees celcius.

I only rarely experience the lights dimming when turning my pc on, but I would expect that too be normal since it might draw a lot of power. It's only for a split second though, so i barely get too see it happen.
