My son managed to get me several malwares, trojans, etc. I was not able to clean all off. My userint.exe file was corrupt. So it recommended me to do an XP install repair. Should have been simple. I begin the repair when my monitor blinked and then went black. It does this at 34% complete. I have tried everything and can not get passed this. I can not boot in safe mode because it says that windows setup is not complete. HELP !

I do not know why Norton did not catch them. Its updated and not only that I run Ad ware very often. I do not know how this happened. I had a feeling I'm going to have to reinstall XP. I do not want to lose my data though. I made the mistake of not backing up before I did this.

Norton is not the best A/V software and is easily turned off by trojans, same thing happened to me with Norton also, now I am using NOD32 and no more lagging ang seems to be the best thing since sliced bread
