Hi everyone. I want to build a gaming computer. I know my way around the parts and specifications but I still need some help for the SSD storage
(Do I go with a 2.5'' SSD, M.2 or a PCIe NVMe SSD )
I planned this build long before the release of the skylake CPUs so I was going for X99.
But when they released and I saw the positive reviews I planned another one.
This isn't STRICTLY A GAMING BUILD, I also do a good amount of video editing (AE and Premiere ) that's why I was going for X99.
Here are the lists

Skylake Build :
- i7 - 6700k
- GTX 980 ti (msi)
- MSI z170 gaming M7 motherboard
- 32 gb of corsair LPX DDR4 ram (4x8 gb)
- H100i GTX AIO liquid cooler
- 2 TB WD Black for mass storage

X99 Build
- i7 - 5820K
- GTX 980 ti (or Titan X in this case)
- MSI x99 SLI plus with usb 3.1
- 32 gb of corsair LPX DDR4 ram (4x8 gb)
- H100i GTX AIO liquid cooler
- 2 TB WD Black for mass storage

For both lists : I dont know what to choose for my SSD... 850 Evo , intel 750 or maybe M.2 ? (all must be in the 500 GB zone)

My problem is that I am in a dilemma between the two builds. I would really like the extra cores for more video editing performance but I also want to go with the newest generation for more future proofing. And since the 5820k is cheaper than the 6700k, this gives me more money to spend on other components. Which made me consider the possibility of going with a cheaper SSD and a Titan X instead of a more expensive SSD (intel 750 pcie ssd for example) and a 980 Ti.

What do you guys think ? X99 or Z170 ?, and is it really worth the extra money on the titan X or should I invest more on the SSD ? if you have other components suggestions please do tell me.
PS : I am on a budget of 3000 - 3500 USD (Case, PSU fans and monitor included)

Solution
They will both have about the same gaming performance, but the X99 build will be better for video editing and it's cheaper. I think you answered your own question. And you can even fit the Samsung 950 Pro in with your budget.
