hd 7790 is 20% faster than gtx 650 ti ,3D Mark 11 Physics

bf4 at high? for $500? i hope you dont plan on running at 1080p.

you're going to be looking at something similar to this build a guy had earlier today...
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2zlzm

a 650ti is capable of running great in bf4 at low/medium at 1080p but chokes on high. if you play at 720p it could likely be playable on high.

a fx6300 might choke a bit on multiplayer unless you overclock. a 8320 would be a better idea but its more costly.

still doesnt change the fact that neither the 7790 or 650ti is going to provide high settings at 1080p. ideally yes the boost edition would be best or to go with the next step up in amd cards. please do keep in mind that i said similar to in my previous post.

while not a bf4 test, here is a 2gb 7790 vs a 1gb 650ti on the previous gen... bf3

heres another one showing it equal

honestly its going to depend on which is clocked higher (overclocked). with bf4 being such a vram hog the extra 2gb might matter if trying to run at 1080p

i guess it is game dependent

Ya but its a bit over his build specs on the money side. its hard to get a good gaming machine for 500 bones to begin with because you need 3 good things actually 4 good mem good cpu good gpu and good power supply to support it not to mention board and good cooling I mean everything has to run in tandam to work great....

i think the fx6300 based system without a gpu for about $400 max is perfect and you dont want to go any lower because you sacrifice overall system experience. the fx4300 or even an x4 760k only saves you a few bucks but doesnt get you any better video card.

If the OP only had a few extra bucks he could just get a $200 r9-270x and have great 1080p performance on all games. if not using partspicker the OP can save about $50 scrounging around for promo codes and rebates for all these budget but very decent parts that have been picked out.

the only other real way i can see to save money is to not buy a hard drive and tear one out of another computer for free, hopefully at least a 500gb one. that saves at least $50, plus the roughly $50 save from searching around and giving a couple to few weeks time collecting parts when they come on good deals and you have a good $300 dollar fx6300 system. that leaves about $200 to spend on the 270x which is by far the best way to get 1080p performance.

if time isnt an issue and you have patience this can very much be done. once a week i see 8gb of ram for $50-55. and decent power 500w power supplies come on for $30. i see cases very usable cases in the $25-30 range. the fx6300 at $110 is normal now. am3+motherboard at $50-60. $20 for a dvd/cd drive is normal but come to think of it if theres a way to steal one of those out of an old computer for free then there you go. thats like $305 with no hard drive or gpu.

this power color 7870ghz edition for $160 after rebate is the same exact thing as the r9-270 or r9-270x. the only difference between all these cards is the clock rates and they are all going to generally overclock to the same levels. this power color is actually clocked to what most 270x's are clocked to anyways.
