Fortunately most games usually don't have ports that are that bad, but there are some publishers that seem to be more inclined to crap out a horrible port on the cheap and focus primarily on consoles, Ubisoft is probably the biggest offender here, though Rocksteady and WB Games have been guilty of it twice both with Arkham City and Arkham Knight. If you're really concerned, you could drop the budget on your gaming PC a bit and get a PS4 as well if you're really into the games that are from companies that do really crappy ports eg. Ubisoft. Otherwise just avoid preordering and buying games on launch day and wait a few months for patches and a discount for some of the iffier ports.
