Hey guys, just got a new cpu (i5 4670k) and motherboard ( gigabyte z87x-ud4h) I had issues with pc turning on 2-3 seconds then off and on...etc. I tester all the slots and the 4 sticks of memory a and all work perfectly fine when I just have 2 sticks in place. When I put all 4 sticks in, that's when I have the issue with it cycle booting on and off. Help?

Solution
3 things:
1. Memory timing might be off or conflicting.
2. BIOS might need to be set for single/dual channals
3. Memory modules for 4 sticks may be different.

Always check timing and set to default then increase if necessary, Good luck!!

The memory sticks are all the same the timing on them is 9-9-9-24 and when I look in the bios it said 11-11-11-28 when I have the 2 in, why?

I put a test bench together with all of them in it, and the first time I boot it up is when it started.

I enabled xmp and profile 1 and that's it saved and shut down pc. I put in the other memory sticks and still does it.

I'm sorry I apologize, made a mistake, I bought the ram with 2 sticks of 4gb each, just recently I bought 2 more of the same exact ones. Would that be a problem? They were bought separately but they're all the same.

Yes that can, even with the same exact models it can still be problematic, which is why they sell such a wide variety of sets, in each set all sticks are tested to work together, might pull 4 consecutive sticks off an assembly line and it's possible no two will play together (though that's doubtful, but possible, it's also why 4 stick sets cost more then 2 two stick sets, and why the DRAM manufacturers guarantee only the contents of each single package - with that in mind though, take one packaged set, install and enable XMP - then raise the DRAM voltage + 0.06 over spec - if 1.5 sticks make it 1.56, also set the VCCSA voltage to 1.03 and give it a try, if still problems, look in the DRAM advanced timings and let me know what the tRFC timing is at
