I would like to update my computer but I do not want to build another right now. I would like to update. I have a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H Black
4690K O/C to 4.2 GHZ
EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0
G.SKILL RipjawsX Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) SDRAM DDR3 1866
Samsung 512 GB 850 Pro.
Corsair RM750x 750 W power supply
Does it make an sense to go to I7-4790K and more & faster memory for another couple of years?

Solution
I think personally need no upgrades what so ever.

I am confused when I looked at the manual for your board it says "Support for DDR3 1600/1333 MHz memory modules" and you stated your have 1866 memory in it. which would mean it is running at 1600 speed only anyways... (something to consider if you need to upgrade to 32GB)

you could if you get a good price to upgrade to the I7 from I5 it will improve speed but marginally to be honest
I would invest in a newer monitor to get that 144hz 1ms refresh if you have not done so already (you don't mention your monitor)

I also have a BenQ XL2430T 24 inch 144 mhz monitor. The gigabyte motherboard will support up to 2133 MHz memory under the XMP profiles. Another user, Multipack stated "Well a 4790k would be as good as a 6700k pretty much. Neither will bottleneck your card, and you wont have to buy new RAM and a new board."

You may be getting slight bottleneck with your current i5.. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EQOWVLxk0DOFXKfzCmz9lEZ-qpMb7mIvt8KUYek69A8/edit#gid=0

I appreciate your response & I apologize for the duplicate posting.
