PC Hardware upgrade, need advice

Recently found this forum/site, I hope it's the right place to ask

So, my girlfriend and I have 2 old computers. We want to upgrade these.

The first one:
MB: Asus P5Q SE2
CPU: Intel Core2 Duo E8400 @3.0 Ghz
RAM: 8GB DDR2
VGA: Sapphire 7850 1GB
+SSD + HDD + case + PSU (Gigabyte 650W)

The upgradeable parts are: MOBO, CPU and RAM.

The second one:
MB: Asrock 880gm-LE
CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 640 @3,0 Ghz
RAM: Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600 Mhz CML8GX3m1a1600c9 Vengeance LP
VGA: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750 1GB
+SSD + HDD + case + PSU (Chieftec A-80 CTG-500-80PB 500W 12cm OEM ATX 2.0)

The upgradeable parts are: MOBO, CPU and I need a new PC case for this.

I found these :
MB: Asus B85m-G
CPU: Intel Core i3-4170
RAM: Kingston 8GB HyperX Fury (later we want to buy another 8GB module)

But recently I found that the LGA1151 Mobo and Intel i3-6100 CPU with DDR4 RAM is
better than this.
So my question is, what do you suggest?
Upgrade the machines with Asus B85m-G + Intel Core i3-4170 + RAM (DDR3 1600mhz),
or with Asrock B150M PRO4S/D3 or Asus H110M-A with Intel i3-6100 +
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz HyperX Fury Black HX421C14FB/8 ?

We often play MMOs, sometimes online FPS games.
Later we want to upgrade the GPUs and the CPUs to i5 or i7, and of course we want more RAM.

Either of the i3's will perform about the same. The Skylake is the latest generation, so I would probably look at that with future upgrades in mind.
