My PC will randomly freeze once every time I turn it on. Sometimes 6 hours after I turn it on, sometimes 3, etc. The freeze lasts for 30-60 seconds and then it ends and my system runs normally for the rest of the time it's on for that session. It's completely random. In event viewer, the error I'm getting is a system error with the Event ID #3 with the source being MEIx64.

The error reads, "Intel(R) Trusted Execution Engine Interface driver has failed to perform handshake with the Firmware (FWSTS0: 0x8000344E, FWSTS1: 0x41000106)."

Also, not sure if this could be related, but my system has some issues with powering off, restarting, and sleep. When shutting down my system with the option in WINDOWS, the monitors will turn off and everything using my motherboard's I/O will be off, but all of my case fans, lights, and gpu fans will stay on. I have to press my case's power button to turn everything off completely. However, if I press the case button first, everything shuts down normally.

Sleep mode will work, but when I try to wake up the system it won't work so the only option is to restart.

Restarting my system works, but usually the spinning wheel and my mouse will freeze in the process.

Again, I have no idea if these things are related, but I figured it was safe to put those details out there.

Thanks to anyone that can help!!

Is this a custom made PC or brand name? If brand name, what Make/model? If custom, what motherboard?

I could guess its likely you need to update Intel Management Engine Interface, we just need to find what version is right for your PC. It helps if its about same age as the BIOS.

It's a custom built PC. My motherboard is an Asus Z-170K w/ an Intel i7-7700k.

Can you download and run Driverview - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html

All it does is looks at drivers installed; it won't install any

When you run it, go into view tab and set it to hide all Microsoft drivers, will make list shorter.

Can you take a screenshot from (and including)Driver name to (and including)Creation date.

upload it to an image sharing website and show link here

It will help me work out what you have installed now.

Also would help to know what BIOS version you are on. As an updated BIOS might also fix it.

I may not answer right away as its late here (7.30am) and I haven't slept yet.

Here's the pic: https://prnt.sc/tg2i0g

According to command prompt, my version is 3301. So should I try updating to 3801?

No worries if you can't respond right away. Sleep is important!
