Hi guys my PC recently decided to kick the bucket (well overdue for an upgrade anyway). I sort of know what I'm doing but I'm not confident so I just wanted to check in with more knowledgeable people if my new build is ok and if you would change anything and if my current 1080 ti will play nice? No real budget just trying to keep it under AUD$4000. Goal is 1440p 144hz gaming

CPU: i9-10850k
Motherboard: MSI MAG Z490 Tomahawk
GPU: MSI Gaming X 1080 ti (Upgrading to 3080 when possible)
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X73 R1 360mm AIO Liquid Cooler
RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32GB (2x16gb 3600MHz)
Case: Corsair Obsidian 500D Mid-Tower
PSU: Corsair RM850x
Storage: 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe SSD
Storage: 500GB Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe SSD
Misc: 2x Corsair ML140 Pro RGB 140mm Fans
Misc: Corsair Premium Sleeved PSU Cables Pro Kit

Appreciate any feedback!

Why don't you consider system based on https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/amd-ryzen-9-5950x

Most modern, top tier CPUs run on hot side but Ryzen should have slight edge in single core and temps. Still, main enticement is extra cores.
Interesting definitely considering Ryzen. 5950x is out of my price range for a CPU how would the 5800x stack against the 10850k? If I go with Ryzen what motherboard and RAM would you recommend as I've heard Ryzen likes specific configurations and speeds?

5800x has 8 cores and 16 threads, definitively weaker than that Intel but single core should be about same.
Simmilar to Intel, MB for Ryzen depends on processor, 12/16 core would be happier with higher end MBs while 8 cores would be just fine with b550 MBs, even b450 or x470.
Influence of RAM speed is on Ryzen is higher than on Intel. 3600MHz, Cl16-14 is still "King of the road" , while 5000 Ryzen can kope just fine with 4000MHz RAM. Make and model not so important unless you want to OC RAM.
