Pc is stuck in sleep mode

My nephew put his pc in sleep mode and now it's just stuck in it. The power light is blinking and when he tries to restart or power on the pc nothing happens at all. Help would be appreciated, thanks.

He should be able to hold the power switch on case in for about 10 seconds and it should shut down. Restarting from this state should log him in normally
