I got a new keyboard today. And I noticed a key reading “pause break” and I pressed it in combination with the function key and then the monitor blacked out!!!! I don’t know how to undo this. I turned off my pc and unplugged it and turned it back on. I got the the windows sign in page but as I was about to put in my pass word the pc blacked out again. Please help. I don’t know how to fix this. I tried pressing pause break key again and it didn’t solve anything. How do I turn my pc back on???!?!!!!

what keyboard? is it a brand name or generic? I don't have a function key? Pause/Break is pretty generic

Depending on the program or the specific action desired, users may need to press the Shift or Ctrl key plus the pause key to pause a program or game. On a computer with the Microsoft Windows operating system, users can also press the Windows key and the pause key to bring up the System Properties window.

The Pause and Break keys were used in DOS and still function in the Command Prompt today. The Pause key is designed to pause a text-mode program's output – it still works in the Command Prompt window on Windows. When you press Pause, the output scrolling down your screen will stop

on the login screen, open the power button (bottom right) and while holding in shift, hit restart
this loads advanced startup

Try booting into safe mode and see if it still does this.
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose start up options
hit the restart button
choose a safe mode (it doesn't matter which) by using number associated with it.
Pc will restart and load safe mode

Did keyboard have its own software?
