Recently I bought myself a new CPU, the AMD FX 9590, I fitted it and appeared to have no problems there, I put on the thermal paste and installed my new heat sink and fan, it all was in correctly. I then turned on my PC and started using it. I logged into windows 7 and launched a game, it crashed the PC. It re-booted and this time it shut off quickly. At first I thought it was overheating as the PC was acting as if it was but its temperature was under 50C. I have no idea what is wrong and would like to know what people think it could be.
Thanks

GPU- AMD Radeon R7 240 2GB DDR3
PSU- Atrix AX-600EXB
MOTHERBOARD- GIGABYTE 78LMT-USB3
8GB RAM
1TB HARDRIVE

Your PSU should be replaced. It's a Tier 5 here on Tomshardware, meaning it's lowest quality rating for components. Add the that your new 9590, which drinks the power, isn't supported for the motherboard. It was never intended for a 220w TDP CPU. This is why it's not listed on Gigabytes' website. The board can't deliver enough power to the chip. You may end up damaging parts just by using this combination of them.

What one would you recommend and also I don't think the motherboard is good enough but not sure

Is there any recommendations as I don't have a huge budget anymore, I can't really spend over £200 but I have more than that

Its your PSU. Do NOT Turn it on anymore until you replace it. Go with something like a CX600 or CX 700 with 80+ bronze efficiency. Ensure that you have sufficient wattage.

If I was to get a CX600 that would be good enough, would that be a long term option or should I go for something more expensive like an AX 760

By the way your motherboard is a 760 chipset, for the FX6xxx and superior better pick a 970/990 series mobo, it will give you more performance and you will notice it.
