Hello,
My PC is about 2 years old and last week it just went off upon checking it I realised the PSU was gone. I replaced the power supply and it worked for about two hours and it went off again. The same symptoms which pointed to the PSU. I replaced the power supply with a new one again. That did not even start the computer. Finally I bought a third PSU and connected the motherboard and a new HDD only to isolate the problem. The PSU did not even start the computer which meant it is the motherboard.
Could somebody help me if it is possible for a motherboard to fry the PSU.

There may have developed a short in your computer, possibly in the motherboard. But the psu should detect the high current drain and the over-current protection of the psu should come in and stop the operation of psu.

Most probably, your psu's are o.k. Just check your computer for short-circuiting.

Thank you very much for your response. I think this was the case. I have stripped the old case and assembled the pc in a new case and bingo. It worked, I guess there was a short being caused by the casing.

Thank you very much.
