Greetings,
i just bought a CPU upgrade from i5-3550 ''that i'm using right now'' to an upgrade i7-3770
when i install it..the PC keeps restarting. the technician told me 90% the CPU itself is OK but you need to check your BIOS update or anything related.
i have the latest AMI BIOS version 2.13
the CPU is supported by my mobo.... any help would be appreciated.

Rig info: Mobo: Msi Z77a-G43
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (legit)
8GB Corsair RAM (2X4GB)
GTX 1650 SUPER GPU
Cool Master B700 ver1

Solution
How far does it get before it restarts? Can you get to BIOS?
If so... Unplug everything exceot what is needed to get into BIOS... like you were breadboarding the bare bones system.

Are those settings now the same as you had them before? Or did the BIOS reset change them to something different? I'm suspecting RAM.
all settings changed to default
Ram back to 1333
CPU speed is default 3.4
i had to set everything back to what it was
XMP enabled ......... CPU multiplier to 42 when i wanna play something
