PC lag after long gaming session

After playing American Truck for about an hour, when I came back to the desktop, the PC was unresponsive, laggy. Chrome especially was very laggy. It took the PC a while to get back to normal.

Why is this?

My Rig:

FX6300
8GB RAM DDR3
Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 motherboard
Onboard ATI Radeon HD 3000 video
500W PSU

PS: I use a memory manager to keep the usage low, could it have anything to do with this?

It could. Disable the memoru amanger and try again. Alternatively, an upgrade to 16 gigs is merited these days.

go into the task manager and check what is eating up all your resources. Is the the CPU running high, memory maxing out?

Check that out first and it should point to whats going on.
