Hi, i am have the intention to get a new gaming computer as my current one feels rather obsolete and not suitable for current games.

I want some honest opinions, so please be frank.
whether the setup has bottleneck, or something being not compatible / pointless to get, or i should aim for something instead

CPU: probrably i5 , 4xxx K
CPU Cooler: TBA
Motherboard: having trouble deciding on this, preferably prefer soemthing that very lasting , a little futureproof and beastly features ,chances are i be adding another gpu in a year time

Memory: corsair 8gb ?
Storage: wd 1tb hdd
Video Card: Gtx 770 2gb / 4gb
Case: aim for fractal design midi r2 ( seeing how its a very good case)
Power Supply: 700 W Enermax ? or any good recommendation?

thanks very much to you!

I'd prefer Windows 7 over windows 8 for gaming PCs... I've seen some games perform better with windows 7.

Muku,

i still own a AMD quad core which is bought around 2007-2008 ,

Does the i5-4670k is how many times better than it?

i might go on dual monitors (one hdmi one not(just led)) for mutlitasking sometime in the future? anytthing i need to know?

i5-4670k is way better than any AMD quad-core CPU... It is capable of handling all the latest graphics card available in the market without bottle-necking them. but to tell exactly how many times better I need to know the model number of your old CPU..

If you really want to go multi-monitor in the future then I'd suggest getting the 4GB version of GTX 770 instead of 2GB. Rest of the system is fine.

One more thing, I have included a 850W PSU keeping in mind that you would go for a SLI setup in the future.. Well, if you don't then a 600-650W PSU would be enough for a single card.

Hi muku,

athlon quad core ,

i just caught thinking that i5-4670k , is quad core as the same as my old one , so i thought its maybe a little older version than i expected.

in addition, how does the intel 3xxx or 4xxx differes from each other?

Not all quad cores are the same... Generally speaking, an i5-4670k is 50-100% better in overall CPU benchmark than an Athlon quad core. Again this is not exact, I need to know the exact model of your old CPU for that. There are more than one models of Athlon quad core.

intel 4th generation CPUs are better by around 5-10% than intel 3rd generation CPUs.
