PC not detecting GPU

I'm in dire need of a tech guru!

I moved my PC just a few days ago and upon doing so (I was just shuffling it over a few inches across the floor beneath my desk) the monitor switched into resting mode with the message "no signal".

I thought the cable had come loose but shut the PC down all the same to make my work easier. I reconnected everything when I was done and tried to boot the PC again, which did so successfully save for the fact that I was still receiving no signal to the monitor.

I switched the cable around to try the other DVI slot on the GPU but was met with the same result. Connecting the monitor to the motherboard's DVI slot did however get the monitor working (which I am writing from now, so we can exclude it being an issue).

After taking a gander through the device manager I found that the GPU is no longer showing (unless I show "hidden devices" under which it is displayed, but the PC states it is "disconnected") although the card is still receiving power through the 8/6-pin PCI-E cables and its fans are running as they did before I encountered this issue. I tried removing and updating the drivers, and while removing them worked fine, I can't install any because the AMD AutoDetect Utility is detecting no compatible AMD hardware.

I shut down the PC, opened the case up and re-seated the GPU but still have the same problem, and my only theory is that the card and/or the PCI-E slot are not communicating properly. I've only a basic understanding of hardware however, so I'm turning to you guys for a professional opinion!

What do you think the problem is and how can I go about fixing it, or am I stuck with having to replace the GPU/Motherboard?

Does your pc play one short beep when you turn it on? If so your computer is posting and most likely starting your OS correctly. And that means it is a gpu issue that is somehow not communicating with you Mb. Try removing it again. Blow the pcie slot to remove any dust that may have gathered there. Try a couple of times. You can also do it to your memories although if it posts they are most likely not the problem.
If it beeps several times you have another problem. You have to refer to your Mb manual to see what the beeps mean.
Btw what are your specs?
Oh and check that your cable is also properly connected to you monitor, not just the gpu.

My PC makes no sound at all when I start it and never has. No luck with clearing out the PCIE slot of any dust either. Any other ideas?

Specs are as follow:

Intel i3-6100 CPU 3.70GHz
XFX Radeon R9 390X
FSP Hyper M 700W PSU
ASUS H110-PLUS Motherboard.

All these products were bought less than three months ago. 8 GB of RAM and two SSDs á 240GB, and that's it.

EDIT: Identified the motherboard.

The motherboard (ASUS H110-PLUS) has no other PCIE slot, unfortunately. I don't have any other GPUs I can try switching in (or another computer to put mine in, for that matter).

Ok, if you're sure you've correctly installed the card back in the slot and tried different power connectors (if your PSU has spares). If it was a windows issue you should still get a display for BIOS information so OS issues can probably be ruled out.

It sounds as though you've caused some damage by moving the PC while powered, either fried the slot or the card itself. You should probably contact XFX for RMA (not sure what length they offer but it might still be covered).

The only alternative would be to see if a local PC shop would test the card for you (some won't test stuff you didn't get from them). It really is best to be sure it is the card before you organise a return, it can be a lengthy process and if the motherboard is the fault you've wasted time and money.

After a restart the GPU -did- work for a time, but stopped doing so after about half an hour of idling/spotify and the like. I'm really not sure what's going on, maybe a short somewhere. Either way, I'll look into contacting the retailer. Thanks for the help.

After two functional restarts where the GPU worked both times, I think I can conclusively say that it doesn't fail until I put greater stress upon it. I had it running for a couple of hours without any hint of a problem, but after launching Divinity: Original Sin (and TW: Warhammer the second time around) the GPU stops running (though the fans still spin) and my monitor blacks out with "No Signal".

At first I thought this was indicative of a heating issue but it doesn't get that hot. Last temp shown on the GPU by HWMonitor was 36 celsius before it shut down, which was just a minute later. Any other theories? Waiting for RMA advice from the retailer, but I'm still looking for any ideas you guys might have!
