PC not picking up new phone

Hi I am trying to connect my Samsung S4 via USB cable to PC to transfer some music. THe PC doesn't recognize anything, I have tried several cables and several ports but just get nothing! Any ideas? Thanks heaps

I suspect that the USB port on that phone is for charging only. I went and looked up the phone on Samsungs site, and the USB port is not even mentioned.

i don't know if sammy has changed anything since i use vanilla and cm11 but as far as i know when you connect your android device you either have 2 choices using it as mtp or as ptp(camera),this changes if you use mac though where you have to download android file transfer
