do you think something along the lines of an i5-4460 and a gtx 760 would perform on par/better than a PS4 for current and upcoming games at 1080p?

of course, getting a PS4 will let me get a better screen/other stuff, but PC still has its merits for me (though kinda pricey) in many ways, along with upgradeability in future and mouse/keyboard (although either way i wouldn't mind a controller)

thx guise

Well if you are speaking of gtx 760 it can't handle some current games at max settings so i wouldn't even bother of upcoming games on 1080p at max with gtx 760. If you are that tight on budget go for PS4 or else R9 270x or R9 280x or you can wait for gtx 960. I would always recommend a custom PC rather than a console.

uh, are you sure that will outperform a ps4? i'm pretty sure the ps4 is on par/slightly below power of an HD7870/r9 270x, in addition to being far more optimized than a pc would be

budget is a problem (in australia), maybe maxing at around $1300 (inclusive of OS and peripherals), but r9 280 is the same price as a gtx 760. would that be worth it?

the 260x is better then the ps4. look at this benchmark ( consider that the ps4 is running most games on 900p )

Most games. Its either 720/900p 60fps or 1080p 30 fps

it is 1080p30fps, but few games are 720/900p
