Hi guys,In the last 2 days my pc is what Im guessing is overheating. its fine when on my desktop or watching YT but when I try to play a game say helldivers, I can run around for 5-10 mins but suddenly out of nowhere screen goes black, i loose audio about 10 seconds later and every fan in my pc goes the full 110%.Im leaning that its the thermal paste on my CPU as it hasnt been changed in over 3 years, where my GPU thermal paste was changed only a year ago.

I ran a FurMark stress test on both the CPU & GPU and logged the results with Icue logger. where the GPU did hit a peak of 91Degrees about 30 seconds before it shut down completly while the cpu temps sat around the 68.6 mark. For reference Im running a ryzen 7 3700x and a RTX 2080 super.Ive uploaded a pdf of the log file here: https://ufile.io/5hkpt93a

Thanks for any suggestions on how to resolve this.

Hey there,

A good application of thermal paste should last 5 years. What paste are you using?

GPU hitting 90c is way off. It should be gaming at about 65-75c max. If it is hitting 90c, then it's prob the GPU that is throttling.

Are all system drivers and bios up to date?

You can take the GPU and give it a good blast of compressed air to clean any dust out. You might also check both fans are spinning togethe (or 3 if there are 3 fans.)

Not exactly sure on the paste that was used. GPU only got paste re-applied by a repair store in town as I wasnt that comfortable taking the GPU apart. Ive ordered some Noctua thermal paste on amazon so going to get a friend to apply it to the CPU and GPU and work from there. Ill also blow out the GPU while its disconnected.

All drivers are up to date, however ive never updated my Bios drivers as I didnt really ever see the need
