I installed a new ssd in a PC that I haven't used in a little while. It has an 8350, sabertooth 990 r2 and a 650 ti. It worked perfectly for months before the hard drive quit. It will make it to the boot screen sometimes and sometimes it won't. It is giving one long beep followed by 4 short beeps. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

What I mean is that there are built in shutoff mechanisms on the CPU and if it’s under any workload at and overheating it will automatically shut down. You said your machine is turning off after approx twenty seconds. If you’re not able to reach OS and you don’t feel like it’s a CPU, fan, PSU issue you may have a corrupted boot manager. I would recommend running your OS installation in Recovery Environment using Startup repair and see if that fixes the problem.

Based on the beep code it sounds like you have a bad video card. You could first try replacing it first. Once you've eliminated the video card from being the issue, you could use your Windows installation CD and try doing a Startup Repair. If this also doesn't work, then boot into Safe Mode with Networking and pull and remove drivers until you can boot into Windows normally.

All that said it could be a power supply issue. Especially if the device powers off only "sometimes".

The computer won't stay on long enough. I have an h115i on the cpu. I plugged a 4 pin fan into the cpu header. The one long beep, four short beeps is gone. It posts. The computer will run for 10-20 seconds then shut off.

Did you check your thermal/heat sink fan setup?

What do you mean? I put thermal grizzly kryonaut on it. I don't understand this. All the fans for all components come on. There are 6 additional fans with LEDs. They all come on. It will only stay on for 10-20 seconds before powering down. Is this an os issue?
