I’ve just recently read some information on the new radeon 8500 DV and the really trippy radio frequency remote. This is the first I’ve ever heard of this type of remote for PC. I mean I’ve read about IR remotes before and wireless mice and keyboards. My question, is there anything like this available without a video card? I’d love to have a RF remote for my computer that I could use in the room down the hall to control winamp or whatever…

You could use a keyboard like the Logitech iTouch I have. It has Play/Pause, volume, skip forward/backward, etc.

True, I probably could. But, my question then becomes how big is this keyboard? and could I use it from my living room if my computer is in my room down the hall?

It's a standard smaller keyboard (not nearly as big as the MS Natural ones), but the range is small. Grab the Intel one if you need a big range. It's pricey (since you need to buy the base), and you'll need to move fast to get it as they're discontinuing that department.
A friend of mine has it, great quality. He was controlling his computer from across the street. You'll have to check on what extra buttons it has, though.
