I have had a lot of experience building and troubleshooting PC's but this issue has been driving me crazy and I cannot figure out what else to do. The PC will reboot while loading or playing games. It does not have any rhyme or reason, but is happening across several games. The computer goes to a black screen and reboots. There are no errors, BSOD etc.

AMD Ryzen 5800x3D
MSI X570 Gaming Plus (from 2020)
ASUS ROG RTX 2080 TI (then MSI 4070 TI)
32G DDR4 Teamgroup Vulcan Z 3200 MHZ (running non-xmp)
Corsair 240 AIO
850 EVGA Gold Power Supply (2020)
Corsair mp600 as main drive
WD Black SN850X as secondary
Windows 10 and then Windows 11

The computer was originally using a 3800X3D, then when I built another new computer, I put in the 5800X3D in June(this was a new chip). I will mention that the problems started with Diablo 4. I am aware that the game is not well optimized and many are having issues with it. I have also followed a lot of other recommendations trying to fix it with little luck.

I was willing to write off Diablo 4 until it started happening on all games.

Initially, I thought the PC was overheating but watching the temps, nothing really jumped out. CPU didn't get above 60 and the GPU didn't get above 50 even though the 2080 TI fans started ramping up to max. I did see that the VRAM was going up to 100% useage. The 2080 TI was a hand me down, and although it has been a new card, I thought maybe replacing the card would help the issues.

When I put the 4070 TI in, the system worked great for a day, then started having more problems. I could sometimes get into Diablo, but it would crash when leaving a city, it would crash on start up, it would crash going into the inventory screen etc. Since last Sunday, I cannot play any game for more than 20-30 minutes without a reboot. Not sure what other direction to try.

Any suggestions?

Hey there,

Yes, this seems like it might be a PSU issue. Although yours is pretty good, it doesn't mean it's not starting to fail. Have you a spare you could swap out?

I'm presuming you're not OC'ing anything other than ram at XMP?

On a side note, your MP600 ssd is a lot slower than the SN850x.Might be good to swap them around.
