PC randomly restarts by itself

Hi guys,
I've tried multiple solutions seen on other threads here with no success.
Under no stress or strain my PC will randomly restart without warning. I get no BSOD and once it restarts all is normal again. I could be simply browsing the web and it might restart.
I had the PC for about 6 months before it started doing this.
I have a feeling it could be a hardware issue but I don't want to start wasting money on parts if it's not.
Also note that my pc turns on by itself randomly too.

My specs:
CPU: i5-4460
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 pro4
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws x series 8GB
SSD: Crucial BX100 250GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3TB
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970
PSU: be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 650W

2| It's the PSU. Abrupt system reboots indicate that your PSU cannot deliver power to your system. If the PSU is yet under warranty, you should contact seller and manufacturer and inform them of the issue.

Mind you, as a prerequisite, you should make sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date, that all drivers are up to date and the ram you have are running in dual channel mode. You should also rule out the ram being faulty by running memtest86 for at least 10 passes. If any errors come up when reaching pass # 10 then the issue is with your ram.

You may also want to run your system breadboarded and see if the system powers itself up.

First of all thanks for your response. I was away for sometime so I was unable to reply.

So I ran the memtest86 without any failures (despite it the pc restarting as usual at one point of the test). This would lead me to believe that it is the PSU so. I shall see if i can get an RMA on the PSU. Hopefully this will solve my problem

Is it possible that this could be a temperature issue also? Is it worth doing some tests on that aspect of it also?

If for any reason you feel like the RMA would be a waste f resources, it'd do you one better if you could borrow a PSU of similar wattage and of a reliable brand from your neighbor or friend and test your system while breadboarded. Often times the swap of PSU didn't resolve anything and then was later found through some more extensive troubleshooting that the motherboards drivers or the board itself was to blame.

When you speak of temps, what sort of ambient temps are you looking at and what is the make and model of your PSU? Is the PSU facing towards the bottom of chassis and drawing in the carpet/debris? Might be worth explaining before we ask you to poke some feathery brush into it

OK I'll see what if I can find a similar wattage PSU from a friend. Hopefully it won't be too much hassle!

Using readings I got from HWMonitor the temperatures that i am reading at the moment are :
SYSTIN: 18 °C (64°F)
CPUTIN: 37 °C (97°F)
AUXTIN: 46 °C (115°F)
TMPIN3: 27 °C (80°F)

My PSU is: be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 650W
I am pretty sure that the PSU is fan is facing towards the bottom of chassis however it is sitting on top of my desk. It is located in a room with a carpet.

Edit: Just to note, the PC restarted not long after reading those temperatures.

I asked about the PSU's fan facing up or down since a lot of people have their cases on the floor/carpet while the bottom mounted PSU mount and the fan facing down often results in the fans drawing half or less as much air due to the restrictions of the carpet feeding into the PSU ventilation holes.

Temps look very fine! In fact you're ambient seems like you're under 18 Deg C right?

Please pass on the make and model of your chassis(not your PSU, I made a mistake while typing that out, sorry). If you're unsure, might want to pass on the make and model of the borrowed PSU so as to avoid any negative results.

According to HWMonitor that's its temperature!

My chassis is a NZXT H440.

So should I try running my system breadboarded with the current PSU and see the results. I should be able to do that tomorrow.

Understood! *Temps look fine but I was asking about your ambient room air temperature(the temp of the air entering your chassis's airflow and subsequently the underside of the case). The reason I'm asking you to bread board is to rule out the possibility of a grounding issue within your chassis.
